Palm Meadows Golf Course

An leader in its industry, Palm Meadows Golf Course, is an environmentally friendly club.

With the introduction of Grander Technology they have been able to achieve near-potable water using effluent from the local council.

Jensen Horticulture Services golf course consultant Tony Brown says since the Grander system was installed the water is used to irrigate landscped grounds and they no longer receive complaints from neighbours about odours and the environment has benefited from reduced run-off pollution.

Course superintendent Jason Batterham says there are other benefits to the system when they cut pipes, there is no slime build up, filters are cleaner and water quality is just incredible. After 12 hard frosts they are still mowing, whereas normally grass would be dormant.
Since installing Grander Technology Mr Magner says the system has reduced the amount of water used on the farmntroducing by 35%. "You don't need as much water to get the soil wet," Terry said.

The uptake of nutrients by the plant has also increased. Mr Magner said he was using 50% less fertiliser but still achieving similar growth levels and colour in the turf. The savings in fertiliser alone have already paid for the unit, which has no running or maintenance costs.
